Contact Lens Fitting

Contact Lens Fitting and Evaluation

Unless already done recently in this office, you will require a complete eye exam. Then, additional measurements will be taken and you will receive new contacts. The fee for contact lens evaluation will vary based on whether you are a previous versus new contact lens wearer and also upon the type of contact lens needed. If you have not worn contacts before, you will go through an educational session, during which you will be taught how to insert and remove the lenses. You will also be shown how to clean and care for your contacts. Once the fitting and evaluation process is complete, the prescription is then finalized and you may order your contacts.

It is necessary for all contact lens wearers to have a yearly contact lens evaluation. This exam allows us to update expired contact lens prescriptions, detect and manage any problems with contact lenses or eye health, offer recommendations on the latest technology in contact lenses and eyewear, and properly monitor our patients.

Many complications can occur from improper care and over-wear. The risk of complications increases significantly with overnight use, extended wear, smoking and some general medical problems. It is important to regularly give your eyes a rest from contact lenses and wear your glasses instead.

We offer Soft and Hard Contact lens such as: Acuvue, Air Optix Aqua, Proclear, Focus Dailies, Freshlook, Purevision, Biofinity and many more!
